Weds. A.M.

I'm doing OK. Really. I am very busy at work. I am, thankfully, at the point in my triathlon training where I need to be working the hardest. And I got to see my sweetheart last night for the first time in nearly 2 weeks. It was so nice to see him, sitting on the sofa like a couple of teenagers. He told me a story that had me laughing so hard and for so long. Laughter is a little miracle. It releases so much tension in the body.

Tonight I am taking a bike ride with my friend the Rec Therapist. I think I should be able to keep up with her. I may or may not take a swim on the way to the bike ride.

"It may surprise you that you will almost never hear an AA speaker sound self-pitying about being deprived of alcohol. Identifying with the speaker's past may not be as important as getting an impression of his or her present life. The speaker usually has found, or is reaching for, some contentment, peace of mind, solutions to problems, zest for living, and a kind of health of the spirit which you, too, want. If so, hang around. Those qualities are contagious in AA." -- Living Sober, p. 80

(thanks Scott W. for reminding me of this wonderful book)

I am just reading Living Sober for the first time and am finding it to be all it was cracked up to be. Great things come in small packages. Glad to be of some help.

Mary Christine,

I talked to mAAck, he asked that I e-mail him directions to a meeting on Friday. My e-mail came back since his mailbox was full. I will try calling them again tomorrow, but here is the directions if you talk to him between now and then.

Mike

mAAck,

We are headed off on our Colorado tour on Friday morning right after
our meeting. The meeting is open discussion, and starts at 6:45 am. I
am guessing with the visiting, it will be 8:15 to 8:30 before we fire
up the bikes.

To get to the meeting from the Springs, come up I-25 and take the
C-470 exit on the south end of the metro area. It's the first exit past
Lincoln Boulevard. Bear left on the ramp and take the fly-over (SC
knows how to do that!) onto Westbound C-470. Go about five miles to
Broadway Exit. (Past Quebec and University) Take Broadway exit south
(left at bottom of ramp) Take Broadway about 1/2 mile until you see a big
church up at the bottom of a small hill on the right. I think it is
United Methodist. At any rate there should be a couple dozen cars in the
lot and 1/2 dozen bikes.

Summary:

I-25 North to C470 West to Broadway South to first church.

If I can pull it off, I will have something special for SC. I
will give you a hint:

A past sponsor of SC.

Laughter is sooo good for the soul:)

Laughter is the best medicine. I especially like the laughter were you are laughing so hard your side hurts and you can't even speak because you know you will just laugh again.
I see you,
JJ

Laughter rocks. I do not know how I would survive without it. A true gift of sobriety.
