Today is a scheduled run day. It is 36º, and I don't know where my running gloves, hat, and other cold weather gear is - I haven't needed it for months. And I didn't expect to need it so soon. We shall see if I get out there and run or not.
I just realized that the Martin Luther King holiday is on the Monday after the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in Phoenix. I could conceivably go there for the weekend without needing to take any time off from work. I think I shall do that. And then I will have something positive to focus on for the next three months - yeah, you can remind me that I called it positive when I am whining about being 57 years old (in a little over 2 months) and training for a half-marathon.
Okay, now I am psyched and I think all that stuff is in the trunk of my car. I am going to put on my cold weather clothes and head lamp and head out the door in the cold, dark morning and run!
Let's stay sober again today, OK?

57 and a half-marathon?!?!?! i salute you!!!!!!
and in my world, 36 degrees is seriously hot!!! i'll never get used to this celcius/fahrenheit thingy.....
There goes the little miner going for her run! I love the thought of you running w/your light on your head. 36 degrees is just a big chilly for me in October!
Who wouldn't run with a background like that! I'm envious..
P.S. there is a beautiful 1/2 in Ann Arbor that you could tie into a Memorial Day off.
I can not imagine it being 36deg. somewhere. I'm in open toed shoes and I have my fan blowing at my desk.
Enjoy Tuesday little enchillada
Sounds like torture to me!
When one runs half a marathon, which half is it?
Brrrrrrrr! Whew! We never see 36 Deg (2.2 Celsius) in Naples FL.
Dear 'little enchillada'?? That's another thing I love about these blogs, the love-names you gals give each other.
That dAAve is ONE FUNNY son-uf-a-gun. By now, I realize he does not sit and ponder how to BE funny. Those quickies just come to him like a hurricane tornado (Oooops!).
And I SWEAR that one day I'm gonna have the ultimate earthly pleasure (for me!) to meet all you people. Some Day, you'll see! So, everyone HAS to stay sober, as MC says, OK?
Sheesh...it was 60 here this morning in the St Louis Metro area. 36 this time of year is even cold for us...and baby, we KNOW cold.
I love envisioning you running every morning. Sure saves MY knees. lol
Yeah for the 36 degrees F. Glad that you are out on this crisp morning. Have a good run and a great day.
good for you. I will save the link to this post to send to you as a comment for every whine about training you post about. Maybe when I am 57......ahhh, well maybe not.
kind of off topic, but I love reading your blog. And looks like you're going to be in my state soon for the run. :)
