Moonlit Run

This is a little low-quality cell phone photo from my run yesterday. That moon was so beautiful as it set over the mountains. I had a wonderful 5 mile run yesterday. And today is a wonderful day off from any exercise!

A sponsee is supposed to come over at 5:30 tonight. She has cancelled the last 5 or 6 weeks. I talked with MY sponsor about this last night and we agreed that I will fire her if she cancels tonight. Last week she was "stuck in traffic," the week before she was "too tired," the week before that she "needed to go to a meeting." I have no patience for this stuff. There are other women who would like me to work with them and I have really struggled to find time for them.... and yet, I set aside 5:30 on Weds. evening for a woman who never shows up. This has got to change.
"Your job now is to be at the place where you may be of maximum helpfulness to others, so never hesitate to go anywhere if you can be helfpul. You should not hesitate to visit the most sordid spot on earth on such an errand. Keep on the firing line of life with these motives and God will keep you unharmed." -- Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 102

Yes, I agree, there are so many of us who want and need great sponsor's like you! When she's ready you, or somebody will be there for her. You have so much E,S & H to share...

She's not willing to go to the lengths needed to fully recover. I hear a lot of excuses from people in the various meetings that I attend. They are still stuck and not ready to do the work needed to move forward.

OMG The moon was soooo beautiful here yesterday too and it was HUGE!

good for you setting this girl straight...
like my friend Sandy used to tell us, some of us dont come here house broken, we have to lovingly teach them - I took that to mean that some people just dont know how to be considerate of other people's time or feelings.

have a wonderful day Mary Chrisine

Taking care of your sobriety so those that need to hear it, with them being open to it is great.

I like the pic.

Been there, done that! I hate firing people but, sometimes it is what you have to do.

I understand the frustration with the sponsee. I love when I get any time with my sponsor. What a gift to be able to give someone on a weekly basis. Good luck with it, I know that feeling a bit tooooo well.

Happy Thursday MC!
