6th weekend of snow... snow... snow...

It is snowing again. It wasn't supposed to start until this afternoon and evening. I got up at 4:00 a.m., and took a bath, took some ibuprofen, ate a banana, drank some coffee... did my morning reading and quiet time... getting ready to go to a meeting and then to run 12 miles. I was so excited. By the time I left the house at 6:00, it was snowing like crazy and there was an inch or so on the ground. I quickly realized that my outdoor run was off, and I should get grateful for the dreaded treadmill, because I sure am using it a lot. The thing has a limit of an hour, so I only got to run less than 6 miles. (I am not very fast). In case anyone is wondering, I also got back into first place ahead of the 47 year old on the Nike + challenge. This particular challenge is who gets to 55 miles first - you know - for 55 year olds... why a 47 year old would feel good about coming in first in that I really don't know. Anyway, that is her deal - I just MUST beat her. I will see how many miles I can log tomorrow. (I'm at 41.97 in this challenge now... 73.11 for the month - my all time high).

The meeting was great. It was my friend Tim's 9th birthday. The room was full of wonderful drunks, many of whom I haven't seen in a while and I have known for years. Tim is a guy who got sober in prison and has managed to stay that way out here in the world. He is really special.

As long as I have people in my life like Tim and so many others, it is all good. All the rest is just a bunch of stuff (some of it fluffy white stuff coming from the sky).

I like the bold, red letters. There's a lot of meaning there.

smiling for you in fair weather or foul--- just amazing how much you can run and I'm still trying to figure out how to walk 10 000 steps a day.

Hi MC,
Thanks for the share! It's an inspiration that someone can get sober in jail and stay straight in the real world! Great stuff! I'm glad I have an open mind.

I liked the AA quote :)
Right on!
"...in fair weather or foul."
Kinda' like the US Postal Service.

However the USPS can take a hike because we don't take Sunday and Federal Holidays off.

God bless you and your running.
