Comfort Food

Other people might want chocolate cake, but when I want comfort food, I desire a big rib eye steak, a baked potato with butter and sour cream, a nice piece of warm bread with butter, and a salad - not a healthy salad, but a salad made with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, croutons, and doused with blue cheese dressing.  I didn't eat all of it, but I ate most of it.  And it was good.

(and you can see that my favorite tablecloth was in the wash last night)

Yesterday while driving around (which is a big fat pain due to having a big honkin' convention here this week) I saw a sign outside a restaurant that made me laugh.  It said:

Oprah, our wings are only 150 calories each

For some reason I thought that was hilarious.  She truly could see that sign, but I highly doubt that she would care to indulge in 150 calorie (each) wings.  Yuck.

This morning I am off to a new 6:30 meeting - well, not that new, I actually named the group the first time they met back in 1995 or 1996.  But it is not the one I have been attending as my homegroup.  Then I shall meet a sponsee and get her 5th step done.  Then to work.

I suppose I could try to get you around to my way of thinking-no salt,no sugar,no meat-but that picture tells me I would be wastin' my time:)

oh yes comfort food. My list is sooo long! You have posted a picture of my supper that I have every Saturday night.
My sober daughter that wears a size 2 has never been hungry. Even as a child I had to beg her to eat. It's so maddening to ask her what she wants for supper, she'll say something like "oh, a few pieces or rice would be great"...who refers to rice in "pieces"???? LOL
Enjoy your beautiful day little rice cake.

What a lovely table setting! I am right there with ya. What's for dessert? I very seldom finish a whole steak, but always have room for......say pie?

One foot in front of the other...

In a "Peanuts" comic strip (1981) character Lucy tells Charlie that he "walks all wrong". She proceeds to teach him how to walk, and Charlie ends up crawling like a baby.

I own a framed print of that. Every time I pass it (by the front door) I see ME!

Someone out there in blog world might understand?

I haven't had steak since February. Chicken either.

Thanks for hosting the convention!

It looks good. Are wings really 150 calories apiece? I don't think Oprah needs those.

I love me some good ole grilled ribeyes. Change the dressing to ranch, put cheddar cheese on the potato and that is a good one for me! I used to eat blue cheese but now I find it a bit overwhelming. But it is better than that crap Joe eats, 1000 Island. I ate WAY too much of that when I was growing up. To be honest I have not tried it in years. I might even like it now. he he

I forgot about the convention being in your area. Be careful w/all the idiots.

I can't believe I missed your post yesterday. Now I'm hungry for a steak. I did one Monday Night. A Filet Mignon and a huge sliced tomatoa. HEAVEN. Yea, comfort food.
