A New Pair of Glasses

Literally.  I got a new pair of glasses on Saturday.  They are very different and make me wonder why I thought having RED glasses was a good idea.  I am sure I will get used to them.  I tried to cheapen up and bought a pair of glasses at Sears last December.  They were not only not very attractive, but they were destroyed in less than a year.  How much money do you save doing stuff like that?  Not much in my book.  So, I went to Europtics and paid an arm and a leg for these glasses, but they are nice.

I got to sit at church for an hour yesterday and pray.  I needed that time badly.  The power of prayer is very real.  Meditation is something that I would recommend highly.   I have heard them described (probably over simplified) this way:   Prayer is talking to God, and Meditation is listening to Him.

I am going to go to a noon meeting today.  I think my schedule is going to permit that.

Let's all stay sober today, OK?

Yeah, I'll buy that, Mary. Not only 'buy' it, but DO-IT--ALL of it, even the glasses, not red...after cataract in two weeks. Thanks.

Red glasses, or 'rose'-colored? I know...RED!

It's me--Steve E., remember?

Meditation may be simple, but it is direct!

I love eyeglasses. I would have multiple pair if my lenses weren't so damned expensive.

I like your glasses. It never pays to buy cheap glasses, actually there are few that are what I would call cheap in price, just cheaply made. It is horrible how expensive they are. I have a fairly cheap pair but I only wear them when I get home and take my contacts out. Stephanie does the same thing. That way our eyes can get some much needed oxygen. Have you ever tried contacts? Steph wears the ones you can sleep in but I don't like them. I wear the other kind. But then I have to put on reading glasses to read........UGH

Nice glasses. I agree about getting cheap ones--not a good idea. I have 2 that I use. The sunglasses are the most used while the regular glasses are used only occasionally.

The first thing I thought of was the Sally Jesse Raphael Show about twenty years ago when she decided she wanted audience participation in picking new glass frames. Well, you guessed it, they were red! I was so envious of this really brave strong woman on TV who had the courage to ask people for help. Funny about help, rather like a box of chocolates....I love your frames. You are still one cool sherpa! J.
