Home.

I am at home gratefully.  My flight was many hours late yesterday.  I got to the airport many hours early because I really had no where else to go.  I sat at that airport for so long I felt like Tom Hanks in a movie, I think it was called "The Terminal," where he was stuck in an airport for months... he was living there.  An airport is no place to live.  The overhead announcements get to be so annoying it is almost unbearable.  The hum of nerves is fatiguing.  Watching people rushing, rushing, rushing just makes you tired.   By the time the plane got there hours late because of weather on the eastern seaboard,  no one was in the mood to hear that the plane had mechanical problems.   I didn't get home until nearly 1 a.m.

I remember when flying was so glamorous.  It was really for "rich" people.  Other people drove where they needed to go.  Now I think it is so luxurious to drive somewhere.  I wish I could afford the time it takes, but I can't.

So I am at home.  I am going to work as soon as I can get ready.  I will get to an AA meeting as soon as I can, it might be tomorrow though.

I'm beat.

It's easier for me to sit in airports now that I've quit smoking. Hey, I need to add that to my list of benefits.

I'm so glad you finally got home. I really dislike airports probably for the same reasons, just never saw it put so well.

There are always cute men to watch in airports!

Glad you made it home safely.

I agree that an airport is no place to live - and only barely acceptable for passing through to somewhere else.

I also remember when flying was glamorous and it was a real treat. One of my first flights ever was when my parents took me from Washington, D.C. where we lived to California on vacation. We traveled on my 16th birthday and I felt so grown up. Wonderful memory.

Glad you're home safely.

I remember when flying was a "dress up" occasion.

I am glad you made it home safely. I heard on a show yesterday that the man Tom Hanks played in The Terminal actually still lives there and has for the past 18 years! Can you imagine?

I remember when ya wore goggles and a huge, white scarf--and boots...and a PARACHUTE! Flying, as everything else, just ain't like it used to be (hic!)

Glad you made it home safely. Never flown, have no real desire to either. My husband says he will crawl first!

I am not fond of flying anymore. The delays, the crammed spaces, the rush and bustle. I hope that train travel comes back in a big way. Now an Orient Express along the Eastern seaboard would be really nice.

Welcome home! I love flying, and don't do it much anymore. The worst was a horrendously long flight from San Francisco to Lima, Peru...assnumbing, mindnumbing and just plain exhausting.

I never go anywhere without reading materials....I wanna start travelling by train! Yea, Train!!! Let's take a trip!
