My Third Bloggerversary

Three years ago today I started this blog.  I did it just to have a conversation with another sober blogger who was driving me crazy on my other blog.  I didn't want to write anything about being a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous on the other blog which was political (10th tradition).

I really didn't see the point in having this blog until Trudge found my blog on November 28, 2005 and spread the word.  Within a few hours I had comments!  People had put links to my blog on their blogs!  It was incredible!  Suddenly I found myself in a sober blogging fellowship.  It was much smaller then, we all pretty much knew each other, now I can't keep up with all of them.

I have met some of you and the most surprising thing about that is that there were no surprises.   I have found that if you read a person's blog for years, you get to know that person even though you have never met.

I have found blogging to be an incredible blessing.  Thanks to all of you.

Now I am flying off to North Carolina.  I really dislike flying.  I went to confession yesterday afternoon because to me that is how you prepare to take a trip.  What a wonderful thing confession/reconciliation is!    I will take my computer with me, so you won't have to miss a day of Mary Christine!  Have a great Sunday everyone.

Thanks to Trudge, too, for leading us to you! The community has changed a lot. We used to have Half Naked Thursday, then that got all discombobulated and we abandoned it. But you stayed with us and I am grateful for that.

I don't like flying either, but never thought of going to confession first. In fact I have never been to confession. But I am grateful to have found you and all the other bloggers.

Comment 2. The first one was looking like a Blong!

Flying I LOVE! And I go to Confession, but never thought of making the Reconciliation sacrament a part of preparation for a trip. What a wonderful concept! Thank YOU!

Also, I (and everyone else!) are SO happy you have your computer with you in NC. We could all write 4-5 comments, and keep you awake reading all night.

Remember, if you are giving a presentation, NOT to say, "I'm Mary Christine, and I'm an Alcoholic!"

Happy Bloggerversary! Grateful to have found you. This blogging community really helped me. On my very first day of sobriety, that I spent on the internet looking for answers, I found Top 100 Sober Blogs and just started reading. Which led me to writing. Which led me to readers. Who led me to AA. I will be forever grateful. And now I have to go back to my first post to find out when my bloggerversary is...Have a great trip. xo

I love your blog. Maybe we are more authentic here than some other places. What a neat concept.
I especially appreciate your honest, reasoned comments to me.

I wish you a safe and happy trip. Congratulations on your 3rd from me too.

Looks like the storms shouldn't bother you at all.

I'm not crazy about flying either. Sounds like a great idea to "get right" with my Creator as prep for flying.

Glad that I won't miss a day of MC. Hope that the trip goes well. I too dislike flying.
