Prayers

This is a photo I took while running along the beach in Galveston, on a peaceful calm day in 2007.  This is a beach that is now being battered.

I have often called Houston "Sober Blogging Mecca," because so many of our stellar bloggers are from Houston.  They are now  in the path of Ike.  All I can do is pray for their safety.

They are showing the stuff that tough people are made of.  Doing what they need to do and leaving the rest to God.  Sober people, I have found, are much better able to ride out the storms, both literal and figurative.

Let's all say a prayer for our friends.

I'm with you - saying prayers for our sober friends (actually, for everyone - sober or not) in IKE's path.

Thank you, everyone. I will keep my expectations low today and tomorrow. I have a safe place to stay, just about 6 blocks from my AA club house. It's stressful, but knowing a Higher Power will provide makes it all easier. And your prayers, too.

I surely hope and pray that they will be okay.

oh sweet Mary :)
we are almost finished with preparations. my mother won't leave her house but my sober daughter is with her. she said my son rode off on his bicyle yesterday and they have not heard from him. He however, is the most resourceful person I know, so he'll be fine.

Beautiful photo. How we all wish this could be how it will look after the sound and fury of IKE. Prayers for all affected, near and far.

Prayers for safety and wellbeing to all in the path of this hurricane.

Won't it be grand when the wind stops blowing?

Word, MC! The first and most important thing to do is pray, no matter what the situation. :)

I talked w/Scott this morning and they are doing well. No electricity since 6pm last night. He is lacking sleep of course but all in all they are all doing well.
