Thirsty?

Have a nice $6.00 sip of water.  No thanks.  Does anyone other than me think this is just offensive?

I traveled yesterday.  I am staying in a lovely hotel room.  I need to be downstairs for a conference at 8 a.m., which is 6 a.m. my time.  I need to rush.  I wanted to run this morning, but it is nearly 7 and still too dark to run.  So, no time for running.

I wish I had time to go over to an AA meeting and walk around this great old city, but I am only here until tomorrow afternoon - and most of that time I shall be sitting in a conference room... might as well be anywhere else in the world.  Oh well.  This is how most of us see other cities these days.  What a pity.

Let's all stay sober no matter where we are, OK?

I'm waiting for them to put a sign like that on the tap.

Does the hotel have a gym with a treadmill?

I agree w/Lou on the sitting in a conference room. UGH As far as the water goes, I do not understand why anyone buys bottled water when you can get it free from the tap. I guess I am just country as my friend says.

What a joke! Not even a complimentary sip? I will stay sober up here in my little corner of the world.

What a shame that you won't have any free time!
Damn...I could have told you a fun game (prank) to play at a work conference but I forgot it was this week.

I've spent time in 32 countries and often seen little more than my immediate surroundings. But that usually included the nearest bar.

I hate the water up charge. My groomsmen and I were getting ready for my wedding in a hotel room with a 6 pack of coke sitting on the counter that came in at a total of 9 bucks for the six warm cokes. someone assumed they were free and started passing them out. ouch.

Congrats on the trifecta-versary

I must confess! I used to travel ALL the time for my job and would wake up in the middle of the night hung over with cotten mouth wanting to die. I didn't mind paying the 6 bucks during those moments. I'm grateful that hasn't happened in long time!

What's even more offensive is when they don't have the little sign on the bottle, you drink it and then get charged...yeah it happened.

My gripe is to be flown into cities that are nice to visit but to never see them because of being in a windowless conference room with meetings all day.

Isn't the tech world great? You can be away at a conference and still be in touch with all your blog friends.

I can forget that not long ago this wasn't possible and take it for granted. I won't - it's great to hear from you.

Yep, it's how most of us see the USA, at 80 mph on I-(even or odd number). What a shame. I really enjoyed the book BLUE HIGHWAYS about 20 years ago by William Least Heat-Moon.

I read it while Anna was driving, on
I-75 to Tennessee--yes, @ 75 mph!!!

Have a SAFE (maybe enjoyable?) trip home.
