Back to Frivolity!!!

These are the lights I put on the front porch the other night. They are so pretty!  It is kind of odd though that there are still green leaves on the bush behind them.  Normally at this time of year, those leaves are all gone.

So, I have written about the 12 steps for 12 days.  In that time I have been attacked relentlessly, but it is easy enough to ignore small distractions like mosquitoes... if you want to.  In that time I have run some miles, cooked some cool stuff, baked one pie, gone to some great AA meetings, met with sponsees, had dinner with friends, had some amazing telephone conversations, planned a trip to Texas, gone to Biblical School, gone to church, had my grandkids for a weekend, had a birthday party for the little one's 5th birthday, and generally done a bunch of stuff I probably would have blogged about - if I hadn't been busy writing about my experience with the steps.

Yesterday, for instance, I went to the 6:30 a.m. meeting and then did something I don't normally do.  I went out for breakfast with two of the members of that group.  It was just delightful.  I probably should have eaten something other than the waffle - but oh, it was so good!

And now I am going to go out and run 3 miles.  I will come back and get ready for work.  I will gladly put in my eight hours today and then I have a whole 2 days off.   I am picking up my beloved problem child tonight, we are going to a meeting and then she is spending tonight here.  And tomorrow,  bright and early, she is getting on a bus that some church provides, and going hundreds of miles to visit her 'man' who is spending the next eight years in prison.

OK, I better get to it.  Let's stay sober today, OK?

I don't understand how anyone in their right mind (and those are the operative words) would attack you for what you wrote on the steps. It is powerful stuff. I like step studies and I like reading as much as I can about the steps. Thanks and glad that you are having fun.

You're posts on the Steps was very inspiring. There is nothing better than studying the steps to enable us to see how we all do it the same , but different. Don't let anyone put you down for what you posted. It was wonderful stuff.

I'll have home-fries with that waffle, and eggs, and sausage and crisp bacon, and an extra Maple Syrup for the waffle, and oh yea, another waddle! Skinny ole' me!

No comment, about who might not LOVE your efforts Mary, the past 12 days...but somewhere in 'some' book, doesn't it read, "If they're not nice to you, turn away, wipe the dust from your feet, and LEAVE that place."

That might mean: Make certain I do not take even a grain of DUST away from there--almost like saying "DELETE them"!

OR....did you simply have lots of mosquitoes in your house? -grin-

Hello Mary Christine . . . this is going to be a tough post. . . you see, there is another "Mary Christine" who I love . . . but, well, let's say she is still out there a bit . . . maybe where you were, maybe where a lot of us have been.

Anyway, sometimes I really miss her, . . . really miss her . . . and tonight, for the first time ever, I just stuck "Mary Christine" in google . . . you know, just to see if she was out there, and to kinda say hi . . .

And you came up on the top of the search, how about that . . . I haven't read your blog, or know much about your life, but, by golly and by gosh, you are working it . . . and it gives me a lot of hope for that other Mary Christine still out there in the world.

You don' really need to post this comment, it is mostly just for you . . . you keep it up . . . you are doing well, and never fear, God loves you and will never forsake you.

My very best to you, Mary Christine, and certainly to that other Mary who is still stuck in a world far away
