It is Thursday and I can't post my half-nAAked picture because blogger isn't working right! Sheesh! Hopefully I will get it later on in the day.
Took a bike ride this morning in a thunderstorm. That was exciting. It was actually quite fun to ride through the rain, it brought back memories of my childhood. Riding while there is lightening, however, is not very intelligent.
I couldn't post at home, so I am at work. Therefore my "reading" for today will be a trifle bizarre:
"In most cultures, alcohol is the most frequently used brain depressant and a cause of considerable morbidity and mortality. At some time in ther lives, as many as 90% of adults in the United States have had some experience with alcohol, and a substantial number (60% of males and 30% of females) have had one or more alcohol-related adverse life events (e.g., driving after consuming too much alcohol, missing school or work due to a hangover). Fortunately, most individuals learn from these experiences to moderate their drinking and do not develop Alcohol Dependence or Abuse." -- Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, p. 194

I love that weather!!
you are soo cool riding even in bad weather
and very intersting reading... doesnt mention which % goes to AA ... hmmm??
Interesting reading but I am still wondering if there is any way to calculate statistically how much alcohol it takes to make any given person an alcoholic....(like the rat experiment with cocaine or Pavlov's dogs)......
I was just bragging about you to the hubby. He was in my office talking to me about running and I had HNT up and showed him your coin and told him about your tri~ with the daughters. Told him what a grounded woman you are. Then when I popped on over I saw about your bike ride. I think the lightening would make me peddle much faster. Ouchy. I can picture a cartoon getting zapped in the butt ;) Thanks for being Mary Christine.
So refreshing having rain drops glide along your skin as you ride in the storm. It is like that welcoming feeling of taking a deeeeeep breath, ahhhhhhhhhh.
Ahhhhhh but I still see you,
JJ
I heard 60% women and 40% men...lol
bike riding in the rain, I think that can be a real spiritual deal, I lvoe the rain... of course, the lightning wind and thunder can be another issue!
