Meeting

I need to be sitting in a meeting an hour from now.  As it is, I am in my jammies, have no  idea what I am wearing to work today and no idea what I am eating for breakfast.  Normally, in that state, it would take me at least 2 hours to get out of here.  We shall see what I can do today.

Yesterday morning I texted my sponsee "I just woke up, won't be at the meeting.  How about tomorrow?"  About an hour later I got this text "ha ha, I overslept too.  See you tomorrow."  So I have to be there.

I thank God for the two women I am sponsoring right now.  I dearly love both of them, and somehow know the feeling is quite mutual.  My ex-husband used to say there were two kinds of people in this world - Drainers, and Sustainers.  I have had my fill of drainers.  These women are both sustainers.  Somehow, even when a person is at their nadir of despair, there is a difference between the two.

I better get going.

Shall we try staying sober for another 24º?

Ah ha-there is my problem. Both of my new sponsees are drainers. Can I tell them to stop ya think?

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Drainers and Sustainers. I like that. I'm going to tuck it in my brain next to something a friend of mine told me once. There are people you never complain or explain to.

What an interesting thought: Drainers and Sustainers...and "at their nadir of despair", there is somehow still a difference.

At this time I have no Drainers. I am full of joy whenever I see/hear/think about, my sponsorees, they help sustain me!

hmmm, let's see - "To be doomed to an alcoholic death or to live on a spiritual basis are not always easyalternatives to face."

I'll have to think about that some...

Drainers and sustainers.
I like that.
I'll try to be the latter today.

Drainers and sustainers. That make so much sense. I'm glad you got ahold of a couple of sustainers this time.

The real miracle among so many other miracles in Alcoholics Anonymous is when a "drainer" BECOMES a "sustainer".

i like that 'drainers and sustainers'. i had never heard that before but you are right about that - it makes total sense. i gotta work on not being the drainer...

I have one drainer right now. The other three are strainers. I'm glad for all of them. They teach me something every meeting.
