On Sabbatical

I need to take a break from blogging. I also need to thank you. For nearly five years I have written here every single day. Along every journey - some on highways, some on planes, some only in my mind, I always felt that you were with me, and I have felt that you added to my life immensely. Thank you.

And if you are a stray reader who has come here because you wanted to read about a person who is sober, I am still sober and I would still say to you:

Don't drink.
Go to an AA meeting. (you can look up a local meeting online or in your phone book)
Read the Big Book.
Get a sponsor.
Trust God, and clean house.

AA works. Whether you are sober 25 minutes, 25 days, or 25 years... AA works just fine.

God Bless You All,
Mary Christine

I want to thank YOU...I didn't stumble across your blog until maybe two years ago, but you have been here most of my 3 year journey in recovery! You have a powerful message that is sure to be felt by all around you. I was happy to get a daily piece of that, and will miss it.

Don't come back unless YOU want/need to. Lovely to have encountered you, for a short time non-the-less. God bless xx

I will certainly miss you. I have been reading you and Dave from the start of my blogging life. I knew that I could count on you, Dave, Pam, Scott and a few others to be here every day. I'm glad that it is just a sabbatical. Sabbaticals are for more exploration and enlightenment. I wish you all of that and much more.

I actually DID just happen to stumble across your page. Haven't been to Blogspot in God-knows-how-long, but it's been a while.

I used to write here while I was heavily into my addiction. Although alcohol isn't part of my story, I can strongly relate to you and your journey.

Sober since 10/07/09, and God willing, will continue to be so, one day at a time.

I'll be back to read more as the days go on...

Much rest, and God's richest blessings to you. You have brightened my days with your writing and given me much hope. Perhaps you'll check in now and then? Even if just to share a pic of your pretty flowers! Thank you for all the shares. You are a sweetheart!

Thank you! Your blog pushed me off of the fence and into creating my own blog, which has been a joy to me thus far. My hope is that all of God's plans for you are realized during your time away from us.
Many blessings,
Marie

I hope you enjoy the time away from blog land as much as I have (and do).
I thought I would have so much time on my hands when I stopped blogging but it is not so!

Best of luck on your marathon this year. Crossing the finish is worth all the effort and time.

I do hope you enjoy your rest from blogging..... and perhaps write again soon!

Sitting at a computer blogging is not too wonderful for our backs, is it! I hope your back feels better soon, too.

You don't sugar coat AA so I'm not gonna be all nicey, nicey like the other folks. Get crackalakin! Honestly I wanted to say I hope you are doing well and please know that you are missed.

I see you are taking a break...
How wonderful to take care of yourself.

I wanted to let you know I am starting a new Blog Carnival, which may be right up your alley.

In case you haven't been to one before, a Blog Carnival is a compilation of links to posts about a specific topic. I've participated in several blog carnivals and enjoyed reading others. It's a great way to find new blogs about a subject one is interested in and to get your own posts read by more people.

As I was looking through the Blog Carnival list, this morning, of the hundreds of Blog Carnivals listed, I didn't find one related to twelve step recovery!

So, I decided to create one.

I set up a separate blog, Stepper's Wisdom, to be the home for this new Blog Carnival. I would love to have you submit some posts from your blog for the first edition, which will come out August 15th. You can find a submission link at my blog.

I'm planning to have new editions every few months.

The posts you submit do not have to be new. If you have time, go back through your logs and submit something.

Thanks!
