I have waited too long...

to write this, because I am too tired. I need to get to bed. I spent all day today wanting to go back home to go back to bed. I don't like that feeling one little bit.

When I got home from work I had my first little delivery of organic produce waiting for me (see above)! How exciting! Instead of putting it away, like a sane tired person, I made myself a nice spinach bulghur casserole for dinner. Oh, it was glorious. I should have been baking a pie for an event at work tomorrow - I will do that tomorrow morning - but I was too anxious to eat some of that wonderful food.

And now I simply must go to bed. Sleep is something I cannot do without.

Hungry
Angry
Lonely
Tired

It spells HALT

These things an alcoholic should avoid. Because they spell big T-R-O-U-B-L-E.

On that note, I shall say Good Night, and God Bless.

Good night MC. Tomorrow is another day. I'm heading to bed soon as well. I need more rest.

I hope you get a good sleep tonight and wake rested.
I envy you your produce. I just got my garden planted tonight.
Lilacs still a long way off from blooming. :(

Hope you had sweet dreams!
W-I-L-D storms here last night. Bulghur keeps coming up in my WW meetings, and now I am determined to make some.

It's important to halt HALT - thing is, they usually feed into each other. Being tired can make you hungry and angry and lonely (who wants to go out when they're exhausted), and all the others can feed back in. Make sure you get sleep - though it's good that you're eating well. Fatty foods always make me tired and grumpy.

I loved your post. You are absolutely right about HALT. By not taking care of these fundamental needs we make ourselves vulnerable. I think if more people in general remembered to take care of themselves better many bad decisions could be avoided.
