new hAAt

I got this hat for being one of the first couple hundred people to register for this marathon. I think the hat is very cool. You can see from the picture that I am very very tired. I really am very very tired. Yesterday was a long day. Lots of work, lots of trying to let go of worrying about young men and women dying in helicopters. Let me just say that I respect my son and his adult decision to do what he is doing. He is truly doing what he wants to do. He may be "my baby boy", but I am keenly aware that he is a man. A grown man who I respect and love with all my heart. You cannot keep the people you love (particularly menfolk) safe. If it were up to mothers, all sons would be librarians, but not all men should be librarians. I so appreciate your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I guess my mom is pretty happy that I am a non-violent mortgage broker...

I admire your son for what he does, I know I could never volunteer for it. I am simply not made of that stuff... I don't think. I am grateful for his service, his (and your) sacrifice. I cant imagine the games my mind would play if my son were over there... I will pray for y'all MC...

I love your new hat!

I will pray. Every day. For your son to be safe. I would go nuts if I were in your shoes.

Thanks for showing that women and especially mothers.......are a pretty TUFF group. Strong women NEED to show up, and speak up...so that our younger sisters know, that we can handle anything life brings our way.....when we all show up for each other.
I have you and "the baby/boy/man" in my thoughts and prayers.

My post must not have gone through yesterday. I am praying for both of you. I am grateful for guys like your son that are willing to do what they are doing.
Hat looks good. I am not sure I could do the librarian thing.

I really enjoy your posts and how you include description of where you live. I think it would be neat if people wrote more about that... I will! I will be thinking of your son too. {hugs}
