Early June

Some Flowers. It is a glorious morning out there. I kind of wish I was riding my bike to work again today. But I would have to wear the same clothes I wore yesterday (they are still hanging in my office) and I just heard that we are expecting a windstorm with gusts as high as 90 mph this afternoon. Not a good day to ride a bike I suppose.

What has happened to our blogging community? I am dismayed to find that I have a larger readership on my fitness blog than I do here. I just started that blog, and I am hardly a jock like most of that community. I have noticed that where we all used to get 10 or 15 or even 20 comments on a post, now there are 4, or 6, or 8 comments. I guess people move on and change, and some of us even get drunk. I miss the "good old days" when we all moved around like a herd from blog to blog, we mostly all posted daily, we all left comments, etc.

I have not much to say today... just grateful to be sober. Grateful for beautiful early June sights and sounds. Grateful for a loving God who has done for me what I could never have done for myself.

"We discovered the best possible source of emotional stability to be God Himself. We found that dependence upon His perfect justice, forgiveness, and love was healthy, and that it would work where nothing else would." -- Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, p. 116

I, too, have wondered where everyone has gone. There are regulars I read daily, some I just read weekly or so, then there are those who post so infrequently I got tired of checking on them daily. Blogging is such a fulfiling part of my recovery I am content to plod along, being grateful a day at a time.

I am really grateful that you continue to post daily, it makes my mornings brighter and cheerier.

This gurl will be a part of your herd anytime, and many others too! You all have helped me so much and anyway, I'm not healthy enough to go to your fitness blog!
One of your loving followers...

I have trouble keepin up sometimes, I gues I ahvent prioritized alike I used to. I do make a point to read you most often because I just get so much from what you share. I have noticed the readership of mine dwindling, as are the comments. I figured my Catholicism was running some peeps off...

Hi MC-Your blog is one of the main reasons I was finally able to admit I was an alcoholic and become a part of AA. Don't know what happened to the herd, but I'm still a faithful reader. Thank you.

Hey MC. I just discovered you! Don't go away...

I use Bloglines. It has a cool little B that is in my toolbar, and notifies me of new stuff. Otherwise I could never get to all the feed (32) I follow daily. Maybe that's part of the problem. It can seem overwhelming.

But then there's that little B...

I'm just a *hanger on*...not having a recovery but a teaching blog...But I have to say that your posts really brighten my day.

Can I be part of your herd?

I found your blog through my brother's (scott w). I just read it for the first time today and I enjoyed it very much. I get a lot of inspiration from reading various blogs. I will continue to read you but I don't post very often.

BTW really liked the pictures of apple pie. Yummers!
