Off to a retreat

I am going to my first religious retreat today. I will be gone all weekend. I have been to plenty of AA retreats, but never a religious retreat. I am really looking forward to it.

It is in the mountains, and it should be very nice. My flannel jammies are freshly washed and folded. I have done some shopping for some casual clothes to wear. I will load up my hiking boots, my wool socks, and a hat or two.

I am so grateful that through being sober in Alcoholics Anonymous, I have gotten to discover who I am - and it is NOT who I thought I was. I can walk into a church today and not worry about the structural integrity of the roof!

"AA led me gently from this fantasizing to embrace reality with open arms. And I found it beautiful! For, at last, I was at peace with myself. And with others. And with God." -- Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 559

MC,
Have a great weekend. It is beautiful. I was wondering if you could come to the 6:45 AM meeting at St. Lukes UMC on Broadway in Highlands Ranch on Tues. the 23rd? It is my 2 year anniversary and since you are my "blog sponsor" I thought it fitting to meet you in person (I think for the second time). Motorcycle Mike introduced us once before when I was brand new sober and stil in a fog. Anyway, think about it and if you can make it or want to come, it would be really special to me. Again, have a blessed weekend.

OOPS!! Talk about getting ahead of myself, it is going to be my 21 months. January 23 is two years. Anyway, maybe you can come in January. If you want to come on Tuesday, that is way cool too. I think I need some more coffee; I am not awake yet. Hubby, who is a CPA, always tells me I can't count, and this really proves it. I am totally embarrassed. Time to go pray. Thanks

Sounds wonderful. I love the BB quote -- sums up how I feel about the program.
