Tattoos and Pearls

Last night I had a dream that I was sitting in my window taking a photo of the tattoo on my foot.  As you can see by the photo above, I do not actually have a tattoo on my foot (but I have been talking about getting one).  In my dream, as I sat in the window, a police car drove up and shone a bright light on me.  As if I were doing something wrong and I was busted for it.  I guess I am a bit shell shocked from the incident on Sunday.

Today I have meetings at my old campus.  I was there yesterday too.  After all my meetings are over, my old co-workers and I will be having a birthday party.  For Mr. Potato Head's 60th.  I will bring my Mr. Potato Head and so will many others.   It should be silly fun.  I am in dire need of silly fun.

I may be able to go to the yarn shop after all this.  I am almost done with the second pair of socks I have managed to knit in one month, they were given to my daughters for their birthday.  Knitting on the bus is awesome, and I need to have another project in line.   And if you have never had a pair of hand-knit socks, you are really missing something!

I am looking forward to this day.  Another sober day.  Like a little pearl in a long necklace of pearls.

Let's all be pearls together, shall we?

I have never had knit socks..:(

Ive never had a pair either....if you made several pairs and then posted pictures with a price, I would buy them from you! I have enormous feet though. Use a little extra yarn.

I am seeing an Etsy.com business quite possibly in your future....felted bags, hand knit socks, hats, prayer shawls....yeah.

Hello,

I just started a blog yesterday as I was inspired by yours and Mrs. D- I am so lost though lol! Everyone has pictures and comments and seems so active. I just feel like Im out there and although at the end of the day journaling my recovery is for me, I like the feeling of ratting out the addict in my head and have comfort that people are listening. Accountability so to speak. Is there any tips you can give me? Safe to assume I know nothing-at all about 'blogging'!

My mother made me a pair but they were kind of scratchy. I go for the fleece ones when it gets cold enough here.

The Mr. Potato Head sounds fun.

You can ask your question, MC--I am not that shy.

I don't think I will be selling anything I knit on Etsy. Here is the way my pricing would go:

1 pair of socks:
Labor: 112 hours at $10. per hour = $1,120.
Yarn: usually around $30. + 30
___________
$1,150.

They are nice, but probably not THAT nice!

Oh bummer. One pair of socks takes 112 hours?! So they are a labor of love...is that what you are saying?

I guess you could say that! They certainly wouldn't be profitable to try to sell.
