We have a new employer

Thats a partial quilt top that isn't sewn together yet.  It's just laid out on the floor - and I have just noticed that the colors aren't true on the photo... oh well.  It is a quilt for the baby - for her first birthday.

If I got any more tired I don't know what would happen.  I have got to schedule some down time.  I am running around like a nut.  It has to slow down.  I had to take a few hours off work this afternoon so that I could get some stuff done in my personal life.  And I just got done with all of that.

I thought I would blog tonight and that will free up about an hour of my life tomorrow morning.

It gets like this sometimes and it is not good.

I stopped at church tonight and sat for an hour in silence and prayed.   That is the only thing I know that calms me down when life starts spinning out of control.

God is always God no matter how nutty I am being.  He is constant.  He is the center.

"First of all, we had to quit playing God.  It didn't work.  Next, we decided that hereafter in this drama of life, God was going to be our Director.  He is the Principal; we are His agents.  He is the Father, and we are His children.  Most good ideas are simple, and this concept was the keystone of the new and triumphant arch through which we passed to freedom.

When we sincerely took such a position, all sorts of remarkable things followed.  We had a new Employer.  Being all powerful, He provided what we needed, if we kept close to Him and performed His work well. "  -- Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 62 - 63

I decided to have today as my down time. I met with the District Al-Anon Rep. to talk about our AIS website. Then I was going to go sailing, but came home instead. I read, worked on class stuff and took a nap. I am exhausted. Hope that you get some time to recharge as well.

Sitting in silence and praying is inspiring. I don't feel any more overwhelmed than usual, but that is still a wonderful idea to take away from this post.

Tomorrow I have the afternoon off for the exact same reason. Downtime. More often than not on my drive to work in the morning I turn down the radio for a few minutes and have my talk with God. Sets the tone for my day.

Thank you for the lovely quilt photo and for posting on "we have a new employer" (my search string) He's not so new to me, but my memory needs refreshing regularly.

I am at a rocky part in my path, and I'm praying to got for faith to carry on in the journey.

Steve, hang in there. It seems I am at a rocky part in the journey too. We get through this together - it is better that way.
