Oh my goodness.  I have just had an experience.  I am crying.  I have chills.  And it is about my blog... again.  But oh, so much more. (and I need to be out of here in a half hour, so I have to make it quick)

I got an e-mail from a woman who was searching for her biological father.  He was my first boyfriend in sobriety.  I wrote about him here once.  I used his full name for some unknown reason.  Sadly, she learned that he is dead by reading my post.

He had twin children and he missed them every day of his life.  Their mother left him and took the children and he never saw them again.  He always hoped he would.

Now his children have "found" him by finding my blog.  I sent her an e-mail with my phone number.  I hope that she will call me.  I can tell her that he indeed was an alcoholic, but he was a wonderful, funny, intelligent, loving, and kind man.

The fact that he could never get sober ruined all of that.  It ruins so much more than just our lives.  It affects the lives of others so profoundly.

Let's be kind to each other today, OK?  Thank you.

I found my father a few years ago, and he also was an alcoholic and also dead.It was good to know one way or another.
His last wife gave his torn, tattered AA book that was signed by his sponser.

OMG - It's scary...but it's wonderful. They would eventually find someone who knew him..and our loving God made sure it was someone like you! This way they will get to hear about the person that God saw....the way you just described him.
AND YES...I shall show kindness all day.

Oh! God Yes. Thank you. This morning I received a post from a high school friend who "found" my blog. Oh. And I believe he's one of "us"! is God working just all over the place, again today. I would surely have published his name in my own blog today, had I not read your experience beforehand.

"We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves." And He DID--for me--this morning! (Nothing to do with the high school friend.) I cannot tell you (but y'all "know") how relieved I am this morning!
Thank you AA. Thank you people. and thank You, God!!!

Again, you helped someone, Mary Christine!

It is fantastic the world is so small and that we get to read about it.

You are all incredible people and I am blessed by each of you. I agree with Pam about what they will get to hear about their Dad from you.

That is a connection that has the hand of the HP in it. It is indeed wonderful how all this works and people are united together in these ways that we can't really explain.
